Dr. Marvin Van Kley, DVM
Dr. Van Kley grew up in northern Indiana. He attended Purdue University from 1968 - 1974 for both undergraduate and vet school. After graduation, Dr. Van Kley worked for 3-1/2 years in a mixed animal practice in Princeton, IL. In 1977, he and his wife moved to Kokomo and he became an associate at Kokomo Animal Hospital. From 1980 to 1988 Dr. Van Kley also served as the Howard County Coroner.
Marv is married to his high school sweetheart, Bonnie. Bonnie is the Curator of Archives for the Howard County Historical Society. Together they have two children, Tammy (34), and Jeremy (31). Tammy and her husband live in Lafayette and have two children.
Jeremy and his wife live in Noblesville and have 3 children. These 5 grandchildren are the pride and joy of the Van Kleys.
When Marv and Bonnie aren't spoiling their grandchildren, they enjoy antiquing. Marv also loves working with plants and the landscaping around their home.
For 15 years, the Van Kleys have been active members of Kokomo First Church of the Nazarene. Besides serving on the church board, Marv has taught a bible study class for 10 years. Dr. Van Kley is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Indiana Veterinary Medical Association, and the Wabash Valley Veterinary Association.
Dr. Mark Stanforth, DVM
Dr. Stanforth was born and raised in Kokomo, IN. and is the son Dr. Carl Stanforth, DVM. He attended Haworth High School and then went to the University of Minnesota for undergraduate studies. Dr. Stanforth then achieved his B.S. degree from Purdue University in 1978 and went on to earn his DVM degree from Purdue in 1982.
After finishing vet school in 1982, Dr. Stanforth worked in a mixed animal practice in North Manchester, Indiana until 1985, when he moved to a companion animal practice in Anderson, IN. In 1990 Dr. Stanforth left Anderson and returned to the Kokomo area to begin practicing at Kokomo Animal Hospital after his father's retirement. Mark and his wife Madelyn have 3 wonderful daughters. Michelle is a St. Mary's/Notre Dame graduate, and currently a Lieutenant in the NAVY, and teaches NAVY ROTC at the University of South Florida. Lisa graduated from Purdue with degree in communications, and presently the News Producer for Channel 18 in Lafayette, IN. Marla is also a Purdue graduate in Animal Science, and presently enrolled the School of Veterinary Technology at Purdue. Together as a family they enjoy outdoor recreation, primarily fishing, swimming, and water skiing. Mark and Madelyn also enjoy motorcycle touring together during temperate months and Mark enjoys hunting with their German Shorthair Pointer, May, during the winter.
The Stanforths are active members of the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. As Purdue alumni members, they also devote much to the Purdue Musical Organization and Purdue athletes. Professional memberships include the American Veterinary Medical Association, Indiana Veterinary Medical Association, and the Wabash Valley Veterinary Association.
Dr. Aileen McDivitt, DVM
Dr. McDivitt attended Purdue University for both undergrad studies and vet school. She achieved her DVM from Purdue in 2000.
Since graduation, Dr. McDivitt has been an associate at Kokomo Animal Hospital. Aileen has been married to her husband Dave for 10 years. Together they have 3 young daughters that keep them very busy.
The McDivitts also have 3 furry kids, Zoe a Golden Retriever, Kenai a Welsh Corgi, and a cat Maisy.
The McDivitts enjoy spending time together as a family and being involved in the children's activities at Maple Run Friends Church. And, if she has any spare time, Aileen enjoys quiet time with a good book.
Dr. McDivitt is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Indiana Veterinary Medical Association, and the Wabash Valley Veterinary Association.
Dr. Adam Vernengo, DVM
Dr. Vernengo (ver-nang-go) was born in Glendale, California. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University of Northridge. He then went on to Ross University to achieve his DVM in 2003.
Dr. Vernengo has been an associate at Kokomo Animal Hospital for the past 5 years. In August of 2004 Adam married Kara Whybrew of Peru, IN. Adam and Kara recently had their first child, a baby boy, Christian.
Adam has taken over care of the saltwater fish tank in our office and he enjoys maintaining and adding to it on a daily basis.
Dr. Vernengo is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Indiana Veterinary Medical Association, and the Wabash Valley Veterinary Association.
Dr. Jendy Cooper, DVM
Dr. Cooper was born and raised here in Kokomo, IN. She graduated from Western High School and received a Bachelor's degree from Indiana University Kokomo. In May of 2005 she graduated from Purdue University's School of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation from veterinary school and attaining her DVM, Dr. Cooper became an associate at Kokomo Animal Hospital.
Jendy has been married to Wade Hanson since June of 2003. Together, they have a Golden Retriever mix named Goldie and two cats, Bernie and Clyde. The couple are proud parents of two boys. Jendy and Wade enjoy spending time with family and friends, hiking, and Jendy enjoys tending her flower garden.
Dr. Cooper is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Indiana Veterinary Medical Association, and the Wabash Valley Veterinary Association.
